What is the Climate like?
In summer, the temperature averages around 28 degrees C. If you would like to cool down on the occasional very hot day, turn the air conditioning on in the Chalet, take a dip in the pool, or head up to Mt Buller where the temperature is often 10 degrees lower than at the resort.

Can I bring my Pets?
Due to its close location to the national forests, no pets, birds or reptiles are allowed at the Chalet.

What time is Check out?
Check in time is 2pm, but if the Chalet is required earlier, you may be able to check in at a designated time by prior arrangement. Check out time is 11am.

Where can I buy provisions such as milk, bread, etc?
On arrival you will find a starter pack of tea, coffee, and UHT milk available in the Chalet, along with guest soap and shampoo / conditioner. It is suggested that any provisions for your stay are picked up on your way to the Chalet. The following places are worth considering. Travel time is an estimate based on using a car.

  • 4 Minutes from the Chalet – Merrijig Motor Inn (03) 57775702 has a convenience store with basic supplies
  • 15 Minutes from the Chalet – Mansfield – Mark’s IGA (High Street) has a full range of provisions.

Are there special activities on, in and around Mansfield / Merrijig / Mt Buller?
There are a number of annual and other activities for you to enjoy. The Mansfield Information Centre located on the left hand side of the highway as you approach Mansfield from Melbourne has the most current information.

When is the Chalet cleaned?
The Chalet is serviced before you arrive and on your departure.

The chalet and surrounds are not equipped for people with limited mobility or wheel chairs.

Mobile Reception and Internet?
There is excellent coverage for Telstra Mobile for voice, text, and mobile internet.  For Optus and Vodaphone, coverage is variable throughout the resort.  Wireless internet is available in the foyer of the SEBEL Hotel, for a charge.

Smoking is not permitted inside the Chalet.
